fulltimestudent, I think that Morpheus' post was ideologically motivated in that he doesn't like any criticism of the United States and thinks he could minimize it by pointing to somebody else's wrongdoing. -

Just had a blow up with jw mom and she said the bible referenced angels being called gods, it that true?
by Question_Mans_interpretation inlong story short my mom was acting weird, snubbing me, when i tried bringing her grandkids to see her, so i tried again and this time i just went up and hugged her since she wouldn't hug me or acknowledge any affection.
when i released her i immediately saw her annoyed look and asked what?
bang, she unleashes a floodgate of how she's still mad at me for going to another church that believes the trinity.

They are referring to scriptures in which one of the patriarchs is being addressed to by angels and then the word "Lord" (Jehovah) is substituted in place of "angels".
One example is found in Genesis 18:1-13 where the scripture starts out by referring to angels having a conversation with Abraham then ends up referring to "Lord" (Jehovah) as if God were speaking to him directly.

How the human mind processes facts and faith differently
by EdenOne ini found this very interesting article by t. m. luhrmann in todays edition of the new york times (i've highlighted a few parts i 've found most interesting):.
it seems weird to deny them.. and yet a broad group of scholars is beginning to demonstrate that religious belief and factual belief are indeed different kinds of mental creatures.
people process evidence differently when they think with a factual mind-set rather than with a religious mind-set.

For God/Truth Seekers Only!
by Nicola.threeangelsmessage infor the past three years, my husband and i have been watching these sermons by remarkable worldwide speakers.
the biblical truths we have learnt from their presentations, in such a short period of time most definitely tip the scales compared to the truth the jw.org led me to believe i had for over 20 plus years of my life.
thanks to these videos, we have now found the truth and the truth is jesus christ (john 14:6).

Nicola.threeangelsmessage,
"I hope you will find Him too one day..."
"He is a wonderful God isn't He, because He cares for all His creation - even those that don't believe in Him."
Nicola, what do you think will happen to all the non Christians who try be moral but do not believe in the Christian god?

JWstruggle has that image posted on its site. Based on the other images that it posts it is unlikely that this or any other images on that site is taken from any Watchtower literature. -

"What will I do if I leave Jehovah's Witnesses ?"
by Balaamsass2 inwhenever we visit the board we see a lot of angst among jehovah's witnesses who are just learning the tatt (the truth about the truth).
hey, don't feel bad, we had it at one time ourselves.
"angst means fear or anxiety (anguish is its latinate equivalent, and anxious, anxiety are of similar origin).

As I said on another thread those guys have the pick of the litter. I have noticed something curious though; young brothers marrying women 10 to 15 years older than them. The couples on both sides of the great divide probably reason to themselves that they're not going to grow much older because Paradise is soon to come.
